CHIN AUGMENTATION

Chin augmentation is a surgical procedure to reshape the chin by enhancement with an implant. A lower jawline and chin of right size, shape, and contour is important for a well-balanced and harmonious appearance of the face. Non Surgical Options like Fillers are also available to augment the chin and give excellent results but these have limited improvement and longevity.Chin implants give a striking improvement in the profile of any person who has a small, retruded chin or sunken cheeks.

About the procedure

The surgery is performed under general anesthesia and involves placing a small incision either in a crease below the chin or inside the mouth at the gum/lip junction to create a pocket where shaped silicone implants are placed to give projection to the chin. The surgery is performed as a Day Care Procedure

Candidates For the Procedure

Chin implants give a striking improvement in the profile of any person who has a small, retruded chin. This Procedure is also sometimes performed in conjunction with a nose reshaping surgery (Rhinoplasty), to give a better proportion to the face.

After the surgery

Some amount of swelling in the lip and chin area is expected after the surgery, which gradually settles down over a period of a few days. The sutures are removed in 5 to 10 days (sutures placed inside the mouth dissolve over a period of a few days)
