BBL surgery: Do’s and Don’ts to Follow After the Procedure

Liposuction

Buttock augmentation, also known as BBL (Brazilian Butt Lift) surgery, is a popular cosmetic procedure in which the shape and size of the buttocks are improved by using your own body’s fat. After surgery, the results are good, but to maintain these results, it is very important to follow some do’s and don’ts. If you are considering BBL surgery, understanding its do’s and don’ts are essential during your healing process.

Do’s after Buttock Augmentation Surgery:

1. Follow your surgeon’s instructions carefully

No matter what surgery you have done, it is very important to follow your doctor’s instructions for smooth and proper recovery. The instructions include instructions about your medications, what type of clothing you should wear, and follow up schedules etc.

2. Sleep on your stomach

One of the most important things is to avoid pressure on your buttocks. Avoid sleeping on your treatment side for at least 4-6 weeks. This could impact your surgical area. To avoid applying pressure to the newly transplanted fat, sleep on your side or stomach. This keeps your results consistent and enhances fat survival.

3. Wear compression garments

Wearing compression garments after surgery can help reduce pain, swelling or lead to better results. If you wear tight outfits then there is a possibility that your recovery may be affected.

4. Use a BBL pillow

If you sit directly on your buttocks then it will give a negative effect so try using a specially designed BBL pillow for this. The BBL pillow typically sits beneath your thighs to keep your buttocks off the surface and prevent pressure of the recently transplanted fat cell. During the first two to four weeks, it is recommended to minimize sitting and to use the pillow whenever you must sit, whether for work, dining, or travel.

5. Follow a healthy diet

For getting proper results and recovery proper nutrition and diet are essential. Therefore, consume a lot of cheese containing a healthy diet, fruits, green vegetables, and proteins. Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.

6. Attend all doctor’s appointments

Furthermore, attend all doctor’s appointments that they recommend. Your plastic surgeon will take care of your recovery and manage any issues that may arise. Even if you feel well, don’t avoid follow-ups because they are essential for monitoring your progress.

Don’ts after Buttock Augmentation Surgery:

1. Avoid strenuous activities

During the initial phase after BBL surgery, it is essential to avoid strenuous activities. Strenuous activities like- hard lifting, running, high-impact workouts, and even strenuous housework. This could have a negative impact on your surgical regions. Apart from this, excessive workout can lead to swelling, risk of bleeding or delay in recovery. So stay away from all this for 4 to 6 weeks.

2. Don’t smoke and alcohol

Avoid alcohol and smoking after surgery for at least a few weeks. Because smoke affects blood flow, the immune system can be weak or oxygen which can kill fat cells or delay recovery. For best optimal results, avoid all these things. Since smoking can negatively impact your general health and surgery results over time, you should give it up permanently.

3. Avoid sitting on your buttocks

This is the most important limitation. An early sitting or placing position on your buttocks can harm the fat grafts and decrease the chances that the operation will be successful. For a minimum of 3–6 weeks, stay away from direct pressure. Avoid applying direct pressure on the buttocks for a few weeks.

4. Don’t ignore any signs of problems

If you feel any pain, swelling, or other symptoms after surgery, contact your doctor immediately and do not ignore it.

5. Don’t skin medicines and wound care

If you feel better after surgery then take medicines as per your feeling. Apart from this, it is also necessary to keep changing your wounds properly. If this is not done immediately, there can be a fear of infection. Therefore, it will be better to take proper treatment and proper wounding to get proper results.

6. Avoid driving

After doing treatment, avoid driving for a few weeks. Because this would cause pressure on your buttocks. Before driving, the majority of surgeons recommend waiting two to four weeks, and even then, only while using a BBL pillows.

Conclusion:

After BBL surgery, it’s crucial following the do’s and don’ts for a speedy recovery and long-lasting outcomes. The outcome of your surgery can be greatly impacted by avoiding pressure on your buttocks, utilizing a BBL cushion, maintaining a balanced diet, and avoiding strong physical activity, drinking, and smoking. Always do as your surgeon guides, have patience with your body, and allow yourself the time and attention you require for a safe and healthy recovery.
